Outside our window

One advantage of living at our cabin is the wildlife. We have a feeder outside the kitchen window so we get to see a lot of birds. We also get to be serenaded by coyote quite a bit and there's a lot of deer activity right behind the cabin. Tom has no desire to even go to TN. and stay at a cabin anymore!
When we get the shed converted to a guest cabin we'll have our own little vacation land  :)  I'll give updates on that project later.

Granny and Chastity

Tom and I were priviledged to care for Granny for about 5 months in our home. She passed away Jan. 4, 2011 . When Hannah, Andy and the children were here in the fall, Chastity took on such a little lady role with Granny. She would parrot us at times when she would talk to her, tell her good-night and she loved her. Although Granny was failing, she still enjoyed the interaction and it was both sweet and fun to watch Chastity interact.

Who is that lady?

Some strange lady was at our house last fall--poor Andy!!

The garden

This year we are doing raised bed gardens. It should prove to be alot of fun and very rewarding as far as harvest. Right now, the beds look like little conestoga wagons without the wheels! The plastic is giving us a bit more growing time at both ends of the serason. We have a lot of planting to do yet, but we're looking forward to fresh lettuces before too long--yummm!

Beginning again

Due to some kind of technical difficulty-mine or blogspot-I don't know which--I'm beginning a new blog. I hope to post some meaningful as well as just everyday things.
Since I enjoy information as well as ideas on organizing, money, decorating, babies and all to do with them, it's probably safe to say this blog will be a hodgepodge of things. Throw in some of Tom's thoughts once in a while and that should make it interesting.
I'll try to get some new posts up soon. For now though, I need to bake some peanut butter cookies for Nathanael, by request.
Enjoy the rest of your day!
